Fabric
Sulawesi Barat
In the highlands of Kalumpang, Mamuju, West Sulawesi, Ulukarua Sekomandi preserves Sekomandi Weaving, one of the world's oldest weaving traditions, dating back about 480 years. Recognized as an Indonesian Intangible Cultural Heritage and protected by a Geographical Indication (GI) Certificate, each handwoven textile features meaningful motifs, natural dyes, and is crafted by remarkable women who preserve tradition. Every piece is more than fabric—it is a living legacy of Indonesia's cultural heritage.
