Sekar Buen was established in 2020 as a women's empowerment initiative in Bangun Mulya Village, Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. It began with batik training programs for local women to create sustainable economic opportunities and has grown into a batik enterprise producing hand-drawn batik, stamped batik, silk batik, scarves, ready-to-wear apparel, and corporate gifts. Inspired by Borneo's rich flora, fauna, and cultural heritage, Sekar Buen emphasizes quality craftsmanship, cultural preservation, natural dyes in selected collections, and export-ready products that showcase authentic and sustainable Indonesian batik.
